Plankton Picture Lesson
This week you will explore the amazing world of plankton and discover how incredibly important it is for the health of our planet. Plankton is also beautiful. Its millions of different shapes and forms have inspired artists all over the world.
Materials:
White Paper
Markers, crayons, colored pencils or paint
Dark marker
Optional:
washable marker
aluminum foil
spray bottle
If you have only just heard of plankton, well they have been on our planet a very long time! In fact, for most of the 4.5 billion years our planet has existed, life consisted of only plankton! Complex animals like dinosaurs and humans did not show up until relatively recently, as this timeline shows.
